Opportunities to Move Your Body
The Coalition believes that movement should be accessible to everyone. That’s why the Coalition offers free community yoga and other activities throughout the community. These sessions are designed for all ability levels, helping people reduce stress, connect with their bodies, and build a healthier routine without cost being a barrier.
Changing the Built Environment to Promote Movement
Health doesn’t just happen at the doctor’s office; it starts in our neighborhoods! Through partnerships with local communities and organizations, the Coalition supports efforts to improve spaces like Reily Park, making them safer and more inviting for walking, biking, and playing. By enhancing these spaces, we are helping to shape a community that encourages movement every day.
Nutrition Education
Understanding what healthy food choices look like can be life-changing. With the help of our Dietetic Interns at Miami University, the Coalition provides nutrition education at community events. We focus on building skills like combining food groups to create a nutritious meal, preparing balanced meals on a budget, and making informed choices at the grocery store. Our goal is to empower individuals and families with the knowledge they need to eat well and feel their best.
Walk and Bike to School Day
Each fall and spring, the Coalition partners with Kramer Elementary to celebrate Walk and Bike to School Day, which is a nationwide event that promotes physical education and celebrates the joy of walking and biking to school!
Increasing Access to Food
The Coalition works to make sure that everyone in our community has access to fresh, nourishing food. The TOPSS Mobile Food Pantry brings healthy grocery items directly to neighborhoods where access may be limited. Whether it’s fruits or vegetables or pantry stables, this service helps close the gap, making it easier for families to eat well, no matter where they live.
F.R.E.S.H (Family Resources and Education on Safety and Health) Air Fair
This fair is a family-friendly event that brings together local organizations to promote health, safety, and community connection. Held each spring, the fair features hands-on activities and resources for families, all in a fun, interactive setting! Kids can enjoy games and educational opportunities while adults connect with services that support safe, healthy homes and neighborhoods.
