Amplifying Community Voice

A strategic group that directs resources towards community mobilization by amplifying the voices of stakeholders and residents. Specifically, this workgroup will focus on increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors to build healthier communities.

Success will include documented changes as evidenced by increases in community pride, voice, belonging, safety/health and a decrease in substance use.

Law enforcement officials and McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital are committed to hosting regular Medication Take Back Days in the community. Residents are encouraged to bring expired or unused prescription and over the counter medications to be disposed of in a safe, environmentally friendly way. Miami University Police Department houses a permanent drop box for community members to use for disposal.

McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital developed this program in response to a community concern regarding the disposal of Sharps.
